Fear. Doubt. Uncertainty. Anger. Frustration. Shame. Perhaps even regret... We recognize today as Good Friday, knowing the resurrection follows three days later. However, for the Disciples, I imagine this was the most challenging day of their lives. On this Good Friday, I look forward to drawing closer to God through a special time of prayer, made even more impactful by joining with other believers during a service. I am especially seeking God for healing, as I can't think of a better day for this request, for "by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5).

The room was rented and the table was set. Jesus shared His last meal with the Disciples, instituting Holy Communion. This significant day of Holy Week is known as Maundy Thursday. The term "Maundy" originates from the Latin word "mandatum," meaning "commandment." This day is named after Jesus' commandment to love one another. Maundy Thursday emphasizes the importance of humility and service as we remember Jesus' humble act of washing His disciples' feet. The history of Maundy Thursday dates back to the first century AD, recorded in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and has been celebrated by Christians ever since. Over the centuries, various traditions have evolved, including the washing of feet, the stripping of altars, and the sharing of a special meal. For me, Maundy Thursday serves as a powerful reminder of the significance of humility, selflessness, and service to others. It is a special day that prompts me to pause and reflect on all that is truly important.

๐ŸŒฟ On this Holy Wednesday, we reflect on the words of Scripture: "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it." - Matthew 21:43 NKJV.

This passage is part of Jesus' parable about a vineyard and its entrusted farmers. The landowner's call for the fruit resulted in a tragic rejection of his servants, including his Son. This story not only foretells Jesus' rejection but also underscores the vital importance of cultivating what we are entrusted with.

Witnessing our world today, the fruit of love stands out most in my heart. I pray that God empowers me to cultivate love, embracing those who act with negativity. Instead of dwelling on the hurtful actions and responding with offense, may I choose to respond with love.

๐Ÿ™ "Lord, thank You for inviting us into Your kingdom. Help us produce fruit worthy of You and forgive our shortcomings. Remind us of Your grace in our lives and guide us to lean on You. Amen."

๐ŸŒฟPalm Sunday Reflections & Simple Joys๐ŸŒŸ

We greeted the morning light with joy as we gathered for the Palm Sunday service, holding vibrant, fragrant palms we lovingly cut the day before from one of our favorite bike trails. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ™

After a meaningful service, we took in the last moments of the Strawberry Festival, enjoying homemade lemonade and kettle corn. I watched my grandson clap joyfully to the tunes of a local band as he sat on my husband's lap. I savored the moment and thought, "Can it get better than this? I am content and have all I need."๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‹๐ŸŽถ

It was a peaceful, wonderful celebration of the simple things in life. ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

๐ŸŒŸThe Eternal Light of Faith๐ŸŒŸ

I find such profound inspiration in Leviticus 24, where the tabernacle lamps were lit with pure oil from pressed olives, set upon golden lampstands. This rich symbolism speaks volumes to my heart! Aaron was entrusted with the sacred duty of ensuring these lamps burned brightly from evening until morning, as a lasting ordinance "forever in your generations."

These lamps illuminated the holy place of the tabernacle, symbolizing the divine presence of God. What a powerful reminder that God's presence is with us always. Whether we feel it or not, He is right here, a constant source of light and comfort. The flickering flames offered visible reassurance to the Israelites, and I imagine the sweet aroma was equally uplifting.

Today, I pray that we, too, are deeply aware of God's presence in our lives, permeating every moment with His grace. Lighting a candle can serve as a beautiful reminder of this divine presence, engaging our senses and enriching our faith. ๐Ÿ™โœจ
